They say that you're only as big as your last film. So, since his last film was 300, Gerard Butler is HUGE. Yesterday he joined Brian De Palma's Untouchables sequel alongside Nicolas Cage and he's already signed for an Escape From New York re-make and Game, the next film from the makers of Crank. And now he's got another project to add to his roster. Sleeping will not be an option for the foreseeable future.

Butler has just joined Nim's Island, based on a children's novel by Wendy Orr. The story revolves around a girl who lives on a tropical island with her dad, a scientist whose boat runs into trouble, leaving his daughter to fend for herself. As any right thinking person would, she starts emailing the author of the book she's currently reading and with her help manages to survive happily. Eventually the pair unite to save the island from tour companies.

Right, OK, that's a little weird. But weird can be good. When the father is played by Butler, the author by Jodie Foster and the little girl by Abigail Breslin, then it has a very high chance of being very good.
