First Trailer For De Palma's Passion

As it prepares to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Brian De Palma’s latest dabble in psychosexual tension and erotic thrills, Passion, has released its first trailer. Take a look below.

A remake of Alain Corneau’s Love Crime, the new movie sees Noomi Rapace and Rachel McAdams taking over the roles played there by Ludivine Sagnier and Kristin Scott Thomas. McAdams is Christine, the sexy, powerful boss of Isabelle (Rapace). There is simmering tension between them, which boils over into lust and then the need for revenge when Christine steals one of Isabelle’s ideas.

This is definitely De Palma back on the sort of ground he enjoys, having trod it previously with the likes of Femme Fatale and Dressed To Kill. Question is, can the remake bring anything new to the table and is this De Palma firing on all thrusters? We should find out next year, though there’s no solid release date for the film just yet.
