Here at Empire, we never rest in our attempts to bring you all the biggest film news first – and this month is no exception. The new issue of Empire has a limited edition cover exclusively designed for us by those clever boys and girls at Weta, celebrating the character that everyone is talking about from Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Yes, that’s right, ol’ Norrin Radd, aka the Silver Surfer, is getting his moment in the spotlight, just beneath our cleverly co-ordinated silver logo. And it’s all thanks to Weta’s finest, who worked overtime and against the clock to get us our cover (thanks very much for that, guys ‘n’ gals) – note that our favourite baldie boarder is using the Power Cosmic as he flies, a first glimpse of that effect. This isn’t the first time that Weta has produced a cover specially for us – they did our rather spiffy King Kong cover back in 2005 – but it carries on in that grand tradition, and follows on from our ILM-designed Transformers cover just two months back.

But that’s not all in the April issue. We also have an exclusive set report and interviews from 300, the lowdown on Danny Boyle’s trippy, scary sci-fi adventure Sunshine, a first look at American Gangster and exclusive interviews with Mark Wahlberg, David Lynch and Sienna Miller – plus all the news and reviews you’d expect from the world’s best movie magazine. It’s on sale from Friday, and in the more enthusiastic newsagents from today – so what are you waiting for? Get out and buy it now!
