It's not every day you get to throw a party where Joseph Gordon-Levitt shows up, so it was party hats and streamers at Empire's Laugh Gala screening of **Don Jon **at the London Film Festival last night.

JGL's usual charm and charisma was on display as he strolled the red (band) carpet and posed with his public, talking about his directorial debut and spreading the good word about his hitRECordJoe project. "Being in front of the camera is the vantage point I'm used to," he told **Empire **of Don Jon's actor/director duties, "and where I can tell if a scene is really cooking. It felt really natural to me." So taking direction wasn't an ego-battle in this case? "Me and the director are really tight."

And what of those Ant-Man** rumours? "People make up a lot of things on the internet," he said. So he's denying the story? "I am denying it."

brightcove.createExperiences();Before moving onto projects new - and TV is his next stop as a director - Gordon-Levitt has the small matter of Don Jon to release. Its (500) Days Of Porn tale of a Noo Joisey man (Gordon-Levitt) trying to conduct loving relationships with Scarlett Johansson and Pornhub at the same time seriously tickled the gala audience last night.

Catch Don Jon when it's out on UK cinemas on November 15.
