A teaser trailer for the new supernatural thriller Deliver Us From Evil arrived last month. Here’s the new promo, which expands upon the world of the film and finds Eric Bana encountering some hair-raising, based-on-(perceived)reality experiences.

Bana stars as New York police officer Ralph Sarchie, struggling with personal issues, who begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Édgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. It's all based on the book that details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases. It’s just possible you might walk out of this one wanting to check under the bed at night.

The scares come courtesy of The Exorcism Of Emily Rose director Scott Derrickson, once more re-visiting a supposedly true story alongside co-writer Paul Boardman. With Olivia Munn, Sean Harris, Joel McHale, Antoinette LaVecchia and Lulu Wilson all part of the cast, it’ll creep into our cinemas on August 22.
