Life On Mars: Series 2

All hail those noble souls who know when to call it a day, and how to go out on a high: Life On Mars has ended after just 16 quality episodes. While wrapping up inevitably means taking some of the mystery out of Sam Tyler’s conundrum (he’s a cop, had a car accident, woke up in 1973), there’s still plenty of mileage in the problems of policing that time when orange was the new brown. And kudos to the conclusion — what could have been a disaster ends on a daft, yet wholly satisfying note.
