Futurama: The Beast With A Billion Backs Review

Matt Groening and the Futurama team continue to sidestep the networks with the second of four feature-length episodes. When a giant anomaly in the sky threatens to destroy mankind, it seems as good a starting point as any for a barmy story that involves a planet-sized creature intent on seducing the earth, Fry’s transformation into the Tentacle Pope and what just might be an allegory for life, the universe and everything. The dialogue crackles, Stephen Hawking’s cameo as a blithe professor is a delight, and who’s never wanted to see Bender’s robot army?
