Everybody Loves Raymond Season 1 Review

Unless you’re an early-morning Channel 4 viewer, you’re probably unfamiliar with America’s current highest-rated sitcom. Watching this may make you wonder what the fuss is about, as the set-up is the standard bungling dad/exasperated mum perennial and, despite the title, Ray Romano is the weakest of the line-up, bolstered by the pitch-perfect timing of spouse Patricia Heaton and interfering parents Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts. It has moments of witty observation, but pales beside Seinfeld or Friends.
