Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are reporting back to duty for the third Bad Boys movie, slightly awkwardly called Bad Boys For Life. Now another key part of the on-screen chemistry is slotting into place, as Joe Pantoliano has a deal to return as Captain Howard.

Captain Conrad Howard, at least in the first two movies, faces the unenviable task of being the man "in" "charge" of detective Mike Lowery (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence). So you can imagine his blood pressure levels as they cause all sorts of chaos in the course of their jobs.

No plot details have been revealed for the new movie, and we don't know whether the shouty captain will still be on the job or in a convalescent home for overstressed commanding officers, where the activity room becomes the scene of a car chase. Chris Brenner wrote the script, with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah sharing the director's chair. All being well, the movie will finally be on screens in January 2020.

Pantoliano had a few films on the way, including boxing pic The Brawler and From The Vine Came The Grape.
