Mining Dan Brown's work has done rather well for Ron Howard over the years, so it was somewhat inevitable that he'd tackle another tome. Inferno has been in the works for a couple of years and the teaser trailer, which features Tom Hanks once again on a mission (and a lot of people falling off things or into things) is now online.

Inferno finds Hanks’ symbologist Robert Langdon in Italy, grappling with amnesia and a chilling puzzle revolving around Dante’s Inferno. He’ll face a new and cunning adversary and an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. And he’ll need the help of doctor Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones), who aids him in recovering his memories even as they head out on his latest quest.

This time around the danger comes in the form of a deadly virus lying at the heart of a mystery. Call the Avengers! Sorry, they're not available. So it's up to Langdon to become, as someone says in the trailer, humanity's final hope.
