In the MeToo era, having a comedy like 2000's What Women Want, with its womanizing Mel Gibson gaining the ability to read the minds of the opposite sex, even if he does learn to respect them, probably wouldn't fly. Which goes some way to explaining the existence of What Men Want, which sees Taraji P. Henson in the lead. See the new trailer below.

Henson plays Ali Davis, a sports agent who finds herself muscled out by the men in her workplace. But when an experimental drug-infused tea (and a bang on the head) grants her the ability to hear men’s inner thoughts, she uses it to get ahead of them.

We're all for Henson stepping up to the challenge of outsmarting terrible men, and it looks like there are some laughs to be found, including a Black Panther shoutout (which seems fitting, given how T'Challa also acquires abilities with a little organic assiatance). Adam Shankman's the director here, with Josh Brener, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Aldis Hodge and Tracy Morgan among the cast. What Men Want will be out on 22 March next year.
