Today saw the full schedule announced for the 60th BFI London Film Festival. We already knew Amma Asante’s A United Kingdom and Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire would bookend the festival as its Opening and Closing Galas respectively, but we at Empire also have a gala screening of our very own.
Part of this year’s ‘Thrill’ strand (the others being Love, Dare, Debate, Laugh, Cult, Journey, Family, Sonic, and Experimenta), Empire are presenting the European Premiere of Ben Younger’s Bleed For This in association with the BFI London Film Festival. Starring Miles Teller, it tells the tale of Vinny Pazienza (aka, 'Vinny Paz') – a boxer left with a broken neck when at the top of his game. After Teller’s intense physical performance in Whiplash, this is another role you won’t want to miss.
