It might appear a little unusual for the Blumhouse team to be planning an adaptation of classic, slightly camp 1970s/80s TV series Fantasy Island, but we are promised a darker take on the idea of dreams coming true in unlikely ways. The latest cast addition for the film is Truth Or Dare's Lucy Hale.

While Hale had been in talks for a while to join the film, she's now officially aboard, marking a reunion with Truth co-writer/director Jeff Wadlow and the production company.

Fantasy Island will see Michael Peña taking over the flashy suits once worn by Ricardo Montalban to play Mr. Roarke, host of the enigmatic, titular island where visitors come to live out their wildest fantasies. But, as he warns them, it might not happen the way they expect... Or want.

Hale will be a visitor with a fantasy she wants to see realised, with Crazy Rich Asians' Jimmy O. Yang as a fellow guest and, assuming he actually signs on, Dave Bautista as a man who is trapped there and in search of some justice.

Before that, Hale has indie movie Lily and has been working on comedy A Nice Girl Like You.
