Having cut her teeth working on Buffy and Angel, Marti Noxon has since established herself as a talented writer, producer and, more recently, director on TV as well as writing scripts for films such as I Am Number Four and Fright Night. Now she's turning to film directing, and has cast Lily Collins in To The Bone.
According to Deadline, it's a dark comedy that tackles the sensitive subject of anorexia and is drawn from Noxon's own experiences with it. Nothing has been revealed about the plot specifically yet, but Noxon seems happy with her casting choice. “Lily is a rare bird. She’s got a depth of feeling and heart that immediately won me over," she says. "I feel blessed to be working with a young woman with such talent, beauty and brains."
With her own script in hand and the backing of Mockingbird Pictures, Noxon aims to kick off shooting at the end of the month in Los Angeles. She's also developing several projects, including a TV adaptation of Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects that has Jean-Marc Vallée on to direct.
As for Collins, she'll be seen in Warren Beatty's next, an as-yet-untitled drama, and has worked on TV movie The Last Tycoon.
