Given how long it has been since his storming directorial debut Attack The Block and the wealth of tempting projects dangled in front of him since then, we might have expected official word on Joe Cornish's new film to come from somewhere other than its casting director, but Jessica Ronane's twitter feed broke the news with an announcement looking for the young leads of The Kid Who Would Be King.

Working Title and Big Talk Pictures are once again backing the writer/director for what is promised as a fantasy action-adventure, and appears to be an original idea from Cornish, much like Block. According to Ronane's post, the story is "about a band of young kids embarking on an epic quest to thwart a Medieval menace."

All being well, Cornish will be starting to shoot later this summer, which is good news given how we've been waiting to see his next big movie. There's no release date yet, but hopefully it'll hit screens next year.
