When he's not getting the claws out as Wolverine, Hugh Jackman develops other projects he can potentially star in. And now that he's shaved off Logan's mutton chops for the last time, he's setting up new movies, including an adaptation of Sherman Alexie's YA title The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part-Time Indian.
The book tells the story of a teenager named Junior, who is a budding cartoonist living on the Spokane Reservation. Frustrated with his lack of life choices, he decides to forge his own future, and leaves his troubled school to attend an all-white high school where the only other Native American is the mascot. It's all drawn partly from Alexie's real life, where he grew up on the reservation depicted in the book, and he'll adapt the book himself.
Jackman is planning to take a supporting role in the movie, and will likely also produce alongside the Temple Hill team and Donner's Company
(run by Lauren Shuler Donner, who has worked regularly with Jackman on the X-Men and Wolverine movies).
In addition to Logan, which will arrive on 3 March, Jackman will be seen in Barnum movie The Greatest Showman, which is now shooting.
