Holt McCallany

We already know that Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman and all manner of insulting lines delivered while the former is punching terrorists in the face will be present and correct for Angel Has Fallen, the third film in the "president-in-danger" series that began with 2013's Olympus Has Fallen. Mindhunter's Holt McCallany is joining them.

Ric Roman Waugh will be in the director's chair for the film, which finds presidential plane Air Force One as the potential target this time. There has been no sign of Aaron Eckhart returning as President Benjamin Asher yet, so perhaps they're seeing if Harrison Ford is available. And then there's Freeman, who played Vice President Allan Trumball last time around, which points to him possibly having earned a promotion. McCallany will be Wade Jennings, a former military man and close friend of Butler's Mike Banning who now owns a technology company. Anyone else thinking that he could turn out to be a wrong 'un?

Writers Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt, who crafted the first film and had a hand in the second, are back on script duty for this one, and shooting should kick off next month here in the UK. As for Mindhunter, the show starts production on Season 2 in April and should return to Netflix later in the year.
