J.K. Rowling has been exploring new corners of the Harry Potter wizarding world for a while now via expanded universe site Pottermore and, thanks to her screenplay, the first film in the Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them trilogy. Now she's combining the two via some new short stories that will explore the world of magic in America.

Rowling is releasing the stories on the Pottermore site at 2:00pm UK time (9:00am ET in the States) on March 8, which means they'll be up in a few hours at time of writing. A new piece will be revealed every day at the same time all week.

Among the elements of the stories, collectively known as History Of Magic In North America will be a closer look at the North American wizarding school, Ilvermorny, an exploration of Native American skin-walkers, how the Salem witch trials played a part in forming their country's national identity and the Magical Congress of the United States of America, the States' equivalent of the Ministry of Magic. Can't wait for the long debates over the ownership of lethal wands as part of the 2nd curse amendment. Because Avada Kedavra doesn't kill people. People using Avada Kedavra kill people.

Of course, this is all serving as world-building for Fantastic Beasts, which sees Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander travelling to New

York in the 1920s and accidentally unleashing a horde of beasties upon the populace. The film arrives on November 18.
