UPDATE: As you can see from the new teaser lurking at the bottom of the page, Chris Hemsworth is involved with this thing as the son of Walter "Wally" Reilly from the first two movies. Still doesn't explain what it is, but we figured you might want to at least watch it...

It's not completely unheard of for movies to come out of nowhere – JJ Abrams likes to do it when he can. But this new potential comedy is a real mystery, with a new trailer purporting to advertise that Danny McBride is starring in a belated third sequel to Crocodile Dundee, called, simply, Dundee. Check it out below and see what you make of it.

While there remains a lot of debate as to whether this is a real movie, a parody knocked up by McBride and others as a lark or a promotional element for something else (after all, we're not that far away from the Super Bowl, and this could be some sort of viral campaign for a product), Dundee is doing everything it can to convince the world that it's an actual film due to hit cinemas this summer.

The plot synopsis goes on to explain that the story will see Paul Hogan's Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee gone missing in the Australian outback. And that the only person who can find him is the loud, obnoxious American son Brian (McBride) he didn't know he had. Can he live up to the family name? This thing has a website and even a hashtag (#DundeeMovie), but little other evidence of its existence. And though the IMDB lists a June release (just in Los Angeles), and the production company involved – Rimfire Films – was involved in the first two 1980s Dundee movies, the wait is on to see what this actually turns out to be. Place your bets...
