He may prefer for almost nothing from his latest film to be seen before it hits cinemas, but even Christopher Nolan cannot stop the tide of movie marketing. The new trailer for Dunkirk is now online.
Set at a precarious time for the allied forces in the conflict: with hundreds of thousands of troops surrounded on the continent by enemy forces, their backs to the sea, Dunkirk finds the main characters faced with a seemingly impossible situation as their foes close in. But that's not the end of the story...
The rest, of course, is history – so if someone tells you what happens, you can't go complaining about spoilers. Still, this should explore a lot more about what happened next than your average history textbook.
Nolan has recruited a mix of veterans and people he's working with for the first time, including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance and Harry Styles. The film will be in our cinemas on 21 July.
