Exciting news for anyone who was eagerly anticipating Marvel's Black Panther, especially since meeting T'Challa himself (Chadwick Boseman) in Captain America: Civil War. Lupita Nyong'o is now in talks to join the cast.
Assuming she does lock in a deal to co-star with Boseman, this could be a fantastic piece of casting. Her exact role has yet to be announced, and there has been no official statement from Marvel about it, but we're sure that information will arrive in due time. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, there are to be some romantic sparks between the two...
Creed's Ryan Coogler is directing this one, and has been working on the script with Joe Robert Cole. The film will explore more of T'Challa's story as the warrior prince who becomes King of the African nation of Wakanda. The cameras should be rolling early next year ready for a February 2018 release.
Nyong'o's star has been on a meteoric rise after breaking big in 12 Years A Slave (and scoring an Oscar in the process). Since then, she's gone on to performance capture work in the current Star Wars movies, voiced wolf Raksha in The Jungle Book and is starring in Queen Of Katwe, which just put out its first trailer.
