He'll be seen this year in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge (AKA Dead Men Tell No Tales – just what we need, another movie with a different title here than in the States) and Australian actor Brenton Thwaites is lining up another role that has him meeting paranormal activity. He'll star in supernatural thriller Ghosts Of War.

Eric Bress wrote the script and will direct the movie, which is about a group of war-weary World War II soldiers who are assihned to defend a French chateau as the conflict winds down. Once held by the Nazis, it's already a forbidding place – a feeling intensified by a supernatural presence that haunts the chambers; one that could be a more terrible enemy than any soldier.

Thwaites' character will be a leader and strategist dealing with battle fatigue who is called into action to help his troops.

As a director, Bress is no stranger to supernatural themes, as he's the man behind movies such as Final Destination 2 and The Butterfly Effect, which he himself is rebooting later this year.

The new Pirates film is due here on 26 May.
