Bill Nighy

Able to blend charming gruffness and winning affability with just the raise of an eyebrow, Bill Nighy has long proven himself one of our best character actors. And now he's working with writer Frank Cottrell Boyce on a new project, supernatural comedy drama Triple Word Score.

Carl Hunter, who has regularly worked with Boyce, is making his directorial debut with the film, which finds Nighy as a father searching for his missing son. They both enjoyed a nice game of Scrabble (the title might be a bit of a giveaway there) and the quest to find his son leads our hero on a journey of self-discovery and hope. And not, as you might somehow imagine, into a world where giant Scrabble pieces battle each other for domination, with the prize being the safety of the universe itself. Let's face it... someone's probably already developing that.

Triple Word Score will start shooting this summer in Liverpool and around West Lancashire. As for Nighy, he has several films on the way, including World War II comedy Their Finest Hour And A Half and horror thriller The Limehouse Golem.
