It would appear that both stars of Hell Or High Water are going historical for new projects. With Chris Pine dipping into Scotland's past for Outlaw King, Ben Foster is headed to the 14th century to play Czech general and warlord Jan Zizka in Medieval.

Czech writer/director Petr Jákl is making the movie, which will follow the story of national hero Zizka (AKA Jan Zizka of Trocnov), a revered military tactician who defeated armies of the Teutonic Order and the Holy Roman Empire. He is known for his innovative strategies and for quickly training peasants to face skilled and armored opponents who usually outnumbered his own troops. The film will also focus on his relationship with a local heiress and his face off against a rival King.

Mudbound's Cassian Elwes is on as a producer, and appears excited for the film to kick off shooting this autumn in Prague. "I loved this script and loved Petr’s first two movies," he tells Deadline. "I think he‘s going to do a fantastic job on this film. And I couldn‘t be more excited to work with Ben Foster again, after my experience with him on Ain‘t Them Bodies Saints. He‘s one of the greatest young actors working right now."

Foster last showed up in Leave No Trace and more recently worked on crime drama Galveston, directed by Mélanie Laurent.
