While he's been focusing on his directorial career of late with Breathe (on screens now) and the long-developing Jungle Book adaptation, Andy Serkis is also squeezing in acting gigs. He's joined the cast of new Seth Rogen/Charlize Theron comedy Flarsky.

Jonathan Levine is in the director's chair for the film, which finds Rogen as a down-on-his-luck journalist called Fred Flarsky, who decides that what will help his life improve is somehow winning the heart of his childhood crush and former babysitter, played by Theron. There's just one tiny wrinkle... She's now the US Secretary of State.

The cameras are rolling now in Montreal, with Serkis playing Rogen's boss, an international media mogul. It makes it sounds like he'll just be popping in to shoot a few days. As for the film, it'll be out in February 2019.

Serkis will also be seen performing as Ulysses Klaue in Black Panther, out on 16 February.
