Allison Janney is much in demand at the moment, with a few projects in line including a reunion with The Help's director Tate Taylor. She's also now attached to star in a new thriller called Lou.

Underworld: Blood Wars director Anna Foerster, who has also worked on episodes of Jessica Jones and Outlander, will call the shots for the film, which boasts a script by Maggie Cohn and Jack Stanley. The story concerns a young woman and her landlord, Lou, who team up to track down the former’s child after the girl is kidnapped by estranged husband. Janney (who has some experience playing a woman managing building thanks to her day job on TV's Mom) will play the landlord, a hard-shelled and rule-breaking woman that has unexpectedly impressive tracking abilities, among other skills.

It won't perhaps shock you to learn that this one is raising comparisons to a blend of Thelma And Louise and Taken. While Paramount originally planned to make the film, it has since shoved into turnaround, with JJ Abrams' production company Bad Robot now raising the money to finance it independently and looking to have production kick off next spring.

Janney has also recently worked on Bad Education opposite Hugh Jackman, and is part of the cast for Jay Roach's as-yet untitled film about the falL of Fox News boss Roger Ailes.
