The Wachowski siblings may be busy putting the finishing touches to Speed Racer, but that hasn't stopped them from keeping busy on other projects: namely, Ninja Assassin, which they are producing with director James McTeigue lined up to direct. And it looks like he's found a star for it, in the shape of South Korean pop star Rain.

McTeigue, who directed V For Vendetta for the Wachowskis as well, is due to start shooting in Berlin in March (the same place they shot V). No details have been released about the film's plot (is he a ninja who assassinates or an assassin who targets ninjas?).

Rain, also known as Jung Ji-Hoon, starred in Park Chan-Wook's recent I'm A Cyborg, But That's OK and has a small role in Speed Racer. He's also re-recording the song Kung Fu Fighting for Kung Fu Panda this summer, so brace yourselves for attempts to make him an international star. In a way, it's probably only fair that pop stars from the Far East start to make it over here. We've been sending them our most mindlessly poppy acts for decades, and turnaround's only fair play.
