Are you ready for Earth Vs Moon?

You should be, because it’s coming.

Writers Paul Wernick and the brilliantly-named Rhett Reese – two guys best known for TV work, including creating the Spike TV show, The Joe Schmo Show – have just sold their pitch for what’s described as a ‘sci-fi epic’ to Universal, following a bidding war involving four studios.

Little is known about the project so far, but we figure that the title perhaps gives the game away. So, have Wernick and Reese - who also wrote the forthcoming Zombieland - created a world in which the Moon is revealed to be home to sentient beings, who decide to wage war on the third rock from the sun? Or are we waaaaaaay off base? Only time will tell.

Scott Stuber will produce, with Lawrence Grey overseeing for Universal. Reese – who wrote additional screenplay material for Monsters, Inc. – and Wernick – who didn’t, but who has three TV Emmys to his name – will also executive produce as a result of the deal, which was reportedly in the mid-to-high six figures region. Nice.

What do you think, readers? Excited by this title? Any thoughts on the possible plot? Do you think the moon has it coming? Have it out in the space below.
