Last year’s Room 237 gathered a group of Shining obsessives and had them expound their theories about Stanley Kubrick’s endlessly dissectible classic. Can the same be done with Ghostbusters? A director named Ivo Shandor seems to think so, and he’s made **Spook Central to prove it.

That name, of course, should be the first alert that Spook Central might not be quite as committed to the idea as Room 237. Shandor in Ghostbusters was the leader of the Cult of Gozer, and the architect behind 55 Central Park West, which housed Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver)’s apartment and, oh yes, an antenna for pulling in and concentrating spiritual turbulence. As Peter Venkman remarks, “they don’t build ‘em like they used to…” Or indeed, at all.

Whether this turns out to be a “serious” look at hidden meanings and theories surrounding Ivan Reitman’s film remains to be seen. We’re more inclined to think it’s a spoof on the **Room 237-**type of documentary using a subject that few people believe needs deep analysis, but it still a stone cold classic comedy film.

According to Shandor’s YouTube page, the film itself is set to hit late September, assuming Sony doesn’t decide to slap it with a copyright charge. Could be fun…
