Director Steven Soderbergh has walked away from The Man From U.N.C.L.E.. According to our friends over at The Playlist, the director decided to step away from the Warner Bros. title he and writer Scott Z. Burns have been developing after the protracted casting process failed to turn up leads.

Rumours linking Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender, Johnny Depp and The Killing's Joel Kinnaman to the planned spy threequel have come to naught, while George Clooney was forced out of contention with a back injury. Soderbergh, meanwhile, is also thought to have baulked at creating a multi-location tentpole movie with a distinctly bivouac-like $60m budget.

With **The Man From U.N.C.L.E. **schedule to shoot in March, the studio will be scouring tinseltown for a new director, as well as a Solo and Kuryakin. Post your suggestions below. Head to The Playlist for the full scoop.
