It takes a brave soul to withstand the preening ego and catastrophic presence that is Alan Partridge, but a batch of actors think they have what it takes. The Alan Partridge Movie has added Sean Pertwee, Colm Meaney, Anna Maxwell Martin, Monica Dolan and Dustin Demri-Burns to its already bulging cast roster.

The Partridge film, which was written by Steve Coogan, Neil and Rob Gibbons, Peter Baynham and Armando Iannucci, is now shooting in Norfolk under the gaze of director Declan Lowney (a veteran of Father Ted, Little Britain, Cruise Of The Gods and, more recently, Chris O’Dowd’s Moone Boy).

Though much of the plot is being kept quiet, we do know it’ll follow Partridge's attempts to resurrect his broadcasting career "while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events at North Norfolk Digital Radio". Die Partridge, pehaps?

Those newcomers should get a quick introduction to Alan’s world thanks to Partridge veterans Felicity Montagu, Tim Key, Simon Greenall, Phil Cornwell, Nigel Lindsay and Darren Boyd, who are all submitting to more time in his company. The fools. We can’t wait for this one, but we’ll have to, as it won’t hit screens until sumer 2013.
