Peter Serafinowicz IS Paul McCartney!

Anyone who knows comedian Peter Serafinowicz' work knows he can do a killer Paul McCartney impression. And now he'll get the chance to show the world - though the medium of performance capture, at least - in Robert Zemeckis' remake of cartoon Beatles musical Yellow Submarine.

Zemeckis has plumped for a surprisingly eclectic bunch of performers to play the band members in his new film - Dean Lennox Kelly, of Shameless and (more recently) Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel, is John Lennon, Cary Elwes - who worked on Christmas Carol with the director - is George Harrison and Epic Movie's Adam Campbell is Ringo Starr.

But in an odd twist, they won't be needed for the musical numbers - that duty will fall to tribute band Fab 4, who will be playing along to actual Beatles tracks. Sounds like overkill, if you ask us.

Still, we're delighted to see Serafinowicz get more work, even if we reckon he could pull a Jim Carrey and play all four roles himself. But with his rising profile across the pond, we're gleeful at the thought of US TV entertainment hosts having to pronounce his last name.
