Even a busy Sorcerer Supreme needs somewhere to chill. Doctor Strange has the Sanctum Sanctorum, and a concept art image of the character and one of his rooms, played in the film by Benedict Cumberbatch, has popped up online.

Situated in Greenwich Village, New York, the Sanctum Strange’s base (at least when he’s not off in other dimensions), something akin to a TARDIS that looks like an ordinary brownstone in the city, but actually contains a huge number of magical artifacts and a variety of other strange modifications. Woe be the burglar who tries to break in here.

While Marvel didn’t provide exact details, the image appears to be of Strange’s Meditation Chamber, and it has been brought to life with typically exacting detail, as seen in a tweet by executive producer Louis Esposito, who visited the set recently.

Cumberbatch’s character follows the usual journey of Strange from arrogant surgeon to master of the mystical arts via a car accident and the ministrations of a strange mystic and healer known as The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton). Chiwetel Ejiofor is fellow sorcery student (and potential future rival), with Rachel McAdams as another New York-based medic who serves as Strange’s main connection back to humanity and Mads Mikkelsen as the villain of this first outing. Doctor Strange is out here on October 28.
