The wheel turns. And quickly, this time. Just a day or so after it was announced that Breaking Bad veteran director Michelle MacLaren had left the job of making Wonder Woman for Warners due to creative differences, the studio has hired Monster’s Patty Jenkins to take her place{ =nofollow}.

Jenkins was famously the first director hired to handle Thor: The Dark World, but despite her enthusiasm for the project, never quite saw eye to eye with the Marvel team and was replaced by Alan Taylor.

Gal Gadot is playing the title character, making her first appearance in next March's **Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice **before the Wonder Woman stand-alone adventure arrives in 2017. Jason Fuchs is writing the script for the film, with MacLaren collaborating while she was in development.

After helping Charlize Theron to an Oscar with 2003’s Monster, Jenkins has largely worked in TV, kicking off The Killing with its pilot and directing episodes of shows as varied as Arrested Development and Entourage. With luck, this will be her chance to return to cinema in a big way.
