Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg are to share the screen again, reuniting for director James Gray (who worked with them both on The Yards) in his next film.
We Own The Night, which Gray has written, is a drama set at the height of a bloody 1980s struggle between New York cops and a Russian mob that is targeting the lawmen and their families. The title refers to banners that the NYPD hung in precinct houses and a rallying call for them to step up their efforts.
Wahlberg and Phoenix will play brothers in a police family, with Phoenix as the bad seed who manages a mob-owned nightclub.
