New Trailer For John Cusack's Drive Hard

**Drive Hard **may sound like a Wayans-style spoof but just take one look at John Cusack and Thomas Jane in this new trailer, fresh in via Indiewire, and ask yourself: are these men kidding around? No. No, they are not. Well, maybe a little. See for yourself.

The story picks up with a retired racing driver turned driving instructor (Jane) picking up a new client (Cusack). Pretty quickly - specifically when the cops start shooting at him - he discovers that he's a just stooge for the latter's bank heist. From there on it looks a lot like the innocent man with the wig becomes a lot less unwitting an accomplice than he started. As Bette Davis didn't quite say: "Fasten your seatbelts. It's The Punisher." Behind all this fun and frivolity is Anglo-Aussie director Brian Trenchard-Smith, the man behind the very great BMX Bandits. His recent CV is heavier in TV movies and direct-to-DVD flicks (Leprechaun 4: In Space anyone?) but he's clearly sold his vision of vehicular mayhem to Cusack and Jane. On past form, we're assuming Jane fires the knives and Cusack picks the music.

We'll be seeing** Drive Hard** on UK screens from May 26.
