Paul King's **Paddington **will definitely appeal to you if prefer your bears polite and well-presented rather than, say, voracious and human-munching like the Werner Herzog versions. The Bunny And The Ball director is dressing the adorable ursine for the big screen as this lovely new teaser poster shows. It arrives as the director ramps up the production for the big screen.
King assures Paddington purists that the CG bear's adventures in a live-action will deviate from Michael Bond's animation only in style. "There *will *be a mishap in the bath", he explains to Empire, "there will be hard stares, and he will be dressed correctly in a Peruvian bush hat and blue duffle coat.”
Good news all round. King is also promising an element of origin story in the movie too, although whether that involves a Predator-style helicopter swoop over the bear's Peruvian jungle home remains to be seen. We can only hope.
Expect to meet the new **Paddington **some time in 2014.
