Mark Duplass Joins Zero Dark Thirty

Kathryn Bigelow seems intent on adding a Most Eclectic Cast award to the Oscars she already has in the cabinet. She's been shooting Bin Laden pic** Zero Dark Thirty** for a while, and has now added Mark Duplass in what Deadline is calling a “key” supporting role.

What that exactly means remains locked behind the film’s security wall, but it’s certainly an interesting choice since he's not someone normally found in a tense thriller. Duplass is usually associated with the movies he makes with his brother Jay, such as Cyrus and the recent Jeff, Who Lives At Home. But he’s also a busy working actor, with films including Safety Not Guaranteed, Your Sister’s Sister and People Like Us all set for release this year.

Duplass is joining a cast that already boasts Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt, Kyle Chandler, Mark Strong, Frank Grillo, Harold Perrineau, Jennifer Ehle and Edgar Ramirez in the story based on Seal Team Six’s take down of the Al Qaeda leader.

Written by Hurt Locker’s Mark Boal, Zero Dark Thirty is set for release in the US on December 19, but there’s no UK date on the books yet.
