Lindsay Lohan Off To The Canyons

Despite her well-publicised struggles and work issues (the most recent just last week, when she was involved in a car accident on the way to shooting Elizabeth Taylor TV movie biopic Liz & Dick), Lindsay Lohan is looking to keep her film career moving. She’s one of the first actors in negotiations to star in Bret Easton Ellis and Paul Schrader’s new film The Canyons.

American Psycho novelist Ellis (who wrote the script) and director Schrader have been building the funding for the movie via Kickstarter, and have now locked in the money they need.

Ellis tweeted about the casting for the film, which follows a group of twentysomethings who get into sex and crime in Los Angeles. “Shooting The Canyons starring James Deen and Lindsay Lohan: July 9-31 in LA. Could not have dreamed of a better cast. Lindsay nailed it...”

Deen’s usual day job is as an award-winning porn star, which shows they’re not going for any old batch of actors. He’ll be a manipulative trustafarian with dreams of making a movie, while Lohan is playing his girlfriend, a young woman addicted to a materialist lifestyle. So maybe the last few years have been Method preparation, eh?
