The star of The Last Exorcism, Rev. Cotton Marcus, isn't coming along for the ride in the sequel, what with the thing that happened last time out, but possessed wallclimber Nell Sweetzer (Ashley Bell) is again the bedraggled subject of hellish demon type Abalam's attention in a southern (hell-)fried corner of Louisiana.
Director Daniel Stamm, whose eye for a scare elevated the first film above standard shakeycam fodder, has handed the megaphone over to Canadian filmmaker Ed Gass-Donnelly for the second instalment. Let's hope he's a cat lover.
The Last Exorcism 2 is out in March.
