Given that he’s now worked with Woody Allen and reunited with the Coen brothers for True Grit, we hope Josh Brolin has well and truly shoved the memory of Jonah Hex from his brainpan. And now he’s considering another possible smart move – signing on for the next Jason Reitman/Diablo Cody collaboration Young Adult.

According to Showbiz 411, Brolin is looking at starring alongside Charlize Theron in the film, which finds her playing a divorced ghostwriter of young adult fiction who starts to realise that she’s so unhappy with how her life is turning out that she decides to head back to her Midwest hometown and reconnect with some old school friends.

Trouble is, she also makes the dodgy decision to look up her old flame (Brolin, if he signs), who is now happily married with kids and isn’t exactly thrilled at the idea of getting back together with her.

It sounds like a great role for Brolin, and given the success of Reitman’s other movies, he’d have to have a good reason to turn it down.
