Clearly writer/director Jeff Wadlow did well enough with Kick-Ass 2 to stay on good terms with Fox’s Marvel consultant (and Kick-Ass co-creator) Mark Millar. Wadlow’s now writing an adaptation of Rob Liefeld’s X-Force comics run as a possible new directing gig at the studio{ =nofollow}.

Rumours have been springing up about Fox’s involvement with the mutant comics since it was discovered that the studio registered a domain name featuring the title.

Now The Hollywood Reporter brings word that regular X-Men producer Laura Shuler Donner is overseeing the new film, which will be drawn from Liefeld’s popular early ‘90s team, which mixed characters from Uncanny X-Men spin-off The New Mutants with veterans such as Cable.

There’s no word on when this one might see the light of day, but it’s clear Fox is looking to exploit more of its Marvel back catalogue.

**Kick-Ass 2 **will be out on August 14. Wadlow is clearly comfortable with comic book adaptations as he’s also writing the script for Bloodshot over at Sony.
