Iko Uwais is known for his outstanding martial arts abilities on The Raid and its sequel. Ronda Rousey is a UFC veteran and has appeared in the likes of The Expendables 3 and the upcoming Fast & Furious 7. When they met, it was moider! Wait, no, that’s the opening narration for Hart To Hart. Uwais and Rousey are meeting for an action thriller called **Mile 22.
Lone Survivor’s Peter Berg is on board to produce this one, which will see a CIA field officer and an Indonesian police officer thrown together to confront violent political corruption. And, given their respective skills, probably crack a few skulls as they do so. Graham Roland wrote the script and Berg will now be tracking down a director.
“I am a huge fan of what Gareth Evans and Iko did on both Raid films, and I’m very excited at the possibility of working with Ronda and Iko to create a film in the spirit of this new wave of combat cinema emerging from Indonesia,” Berg tells Variety. “Ronda and Iko will be a very unique and powerful team.” Now, now, Pete... President Bartlet would have something to say about part of that last sentence, grammatically speaking.
Uwais is helping Evans develop the fight choreography on his next planned film, Blister, and is reportedly on board **Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which lands here on December 18. Rousey, as mentioned above, is in Furious 7, which screeches in on April 3, followed by the Entourage movie on June 19.
