Kevin Hart has had success pairing his fast-talking, nervy energy with someone very different (Ice Cube) in Ride Along. So it makes sense he’d try it with someone else, which means we get Hart and Dwayne Johnson starring in the first teaser for action comedy Central Intelligence.

We’re The Millers’ Rawson Marshall Thurber is in the director’s chair for this one, which finds Johnson as Bob, once the tubby, bullied geek in high school who returns for his reunion as… well, as someone who looks like the Rock. Plus, he’s in the CIA and is looking to recruit the former most popular dude (Hart) who is now an accountant pining for his glory days, for some help on a case. Which won’t end well…

The pair seems to have a decent comic chemistry, with Hart his usual livewire self and Johnson digging out a childlike glee about the bullets flying, the cars crashing and the explosions that come with his job. And they have a quality cast backing them up, with Aaron Paul, Amy Ryan and Ryan Hansen in the ensemble. Will it translate into a solid comedy experience on film? We’ll find out come July 1 next year, when Central Intelligence leaps into our cinemas.
