Harrison Ford as a possibility for **Star Wars is one thing. But here comes something that could be even more fun: Adam McKay has long talked about gathering a great cast for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, but we didn’t expect a cinematic icon. Yet it’s true: Ford is on board!

Following his grumpy turn as a news anchor in Morning Glory, Ford has signed on to the Anchorman sequel to play another legendary newscaster who will match wits with Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy.

As McKay told us himself, the film finds Ron, Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Champ Kind (David Koechner) and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate) headed to New York as the ‘70s dawn and cable news becomes big.

Also aboard so far are James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Dylan Baker, Meagan Good and, if the rumours are true, John C Reilly. With a script once again by Ferrell and McKay, the film kicks off shooting this very week and hits our screens on December 20.

We spoke to Steve Carell about his new comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone this past weekend and you’ll be able to hear his latest thoughts about the Anchorman sequel in a future video on the site...
