Gareth Evans Sets Up New Film

With The Raid finally kicking the stuffing out of cinemagoers over here, Gareth Evans is throwing himself fully into future projects, including the sequel, Berandal, which is scheduled to shoot at some point this year. He recently made a deal to develop real-life heist pic** Breaking The Bank** for Universal and now comes word that he’s signed on to an untitled film for Media Rights Capital.

It seems funny to be reporting that the film – which will apparently shoot next year – is being classified as his “English language debut”, what with him being Welsh and having a solid command of the lingo already. But it’s true, since both The Raid and its sequel are in Indonesian.

Zero details about the new movie have been released, though according to Deadline it will feature “two strong roles for male stars” (shocker!) and it’ll slot into Evans’ schedule before he gets properly to work on Breaking The Bank, assuming that one makes it out of development. And he’s being paid a nice fee for the new movie, so the next round is on him…
