If you haven’t yet caught it, Yonderland is a brilliant, Python-esque slice of British bonkerness that’s got a bit more brilliant and a bit more bonkers with the addition of one Stephen Fry esq. His Fryness is playing a typically singular character called Cuddly Dick. Sky 1 has released a first look and clip of the eccentric elder as he takes his place in the fold.
For those new to the show, Yonderland charts the adventures of Debbie Maddox (Martha Howe-Douglas), a thirtysomething mum who’s beckoned into a strange world by an elf (voiced by Mathew Baynton) and proceeds to have encounters with all manner of weird and wonderful puppet critters. In the third instalment, Debbie and kinda-Dobby will be tackling the evil Negatus (Simon Farnaby).
Fry's character is an enigmatic elder who's been recently released from prison and has “mysterious depths”. According to those in the know, he's “a charming, avuncular eccentric who loves nothing more than to spread love and kindness (as well as plenty of hugs and kisses)”.
