Ed Helms Steps Into Stretch

Limo action pic Stretch finds The Grey’s Joe Carnahan in stripped-down, bare bones, low-budget Blumhouse production mode. But he hasn’t had to skimp on the cast, with Ed Helms just the latest to join the team.

Stretch finds Patrick Wilson as a down-on-his-luck chauffeur who needs cash. He spots his big chance when a mysterious billionaire hires him and his car. Unfortunately for our hero, it ends up being one hell of a drive…

Carnahan has been gathering the cast – including Chris Pine for an undisclosed role – ready to shoot in Detroit, and recently tweeted a pic of what he called 'the boys of Stretch' (the director himself, Wilson, Pine and Helms) with the promise of one more big addition. So expect more casting news to drive in as this one gathers speed.

Helms, currently to be found wrapping up the Hangover trilogy on screen, will next be seen in We’re The Millers (due 23 August), indie comedy They Came Together with Paul Rudd, Cobie Smulders and Amy Poehler and has recently worked on Someone Marry Barry with Tyler Labine and Lucy Punch.
