Though he’ll soon be back on the set of The Office: An American Workplace ready to shoot the next season, Ed Helms is finding time to squeeze in two film roles – one solid part and one cameo – for They Came Together and We’re The Millers.

Together is the brain-spawn of Wanderlust writer / director David Wain and fellow veteran of The State, Michael Showalter. Parks And Recreation star Amy Poehler will play a woman whose humble store is slowly being smothered by a massive corporate concern, which is how she meets Paul Rudd. So far, so You've Got Mail, but instead of just being another tale of meet cute-fight-romance, the movie promises to put the story through a few twists.

Helms will be Poehler’s love interest (pushed aside, one assumes, for Rudd) who also happens to be her accountant. His name is Eggbert, so the film has one laugh already.

We’re The Millers, meanwhile, finds Jason Sudeikis as an experienced pot dealer who needs to create a fake family to help him smuggle a batch of the stuff from Mexico. Among the people he recruits is hooker Jennifer Aniston. In that one, Helms will pop up briefly as Brad, Sudeikis’ boss, who is even shadier than his employee.

And while Helms will be reporting to the Office set at the end of July, his schedule includes breaks to film other movie roles, which will come in handy when he shoots The Hangover 3 this September.
