We’ve had the gap-toothed grin of Jim Carrey’s Lloyd Christmas back in action for Dumb And Dumber To. That was followed by Carrey sneakily promoting his children’s book while premiering the first look at Lloyd and Jeff Daniels’ Harry Dunne as they look these days. How do you follow that up? If you’re directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly, your next step is apparently Vine.
Okay, so it’s not much – there’s not an awful lot you can put into the six-second snapshots unless you have really planned ahead – and mostly just shows how Daniels sounds, which is pretty much as you’d expect given he’s returning to the character and has a firm handle on how to play him.
While there has still been no official announcement, the plot still appears to be that Harry needs a kidney transplant and so the pair head off to find his long-lost daughter. This raises several key points: 1. Harry had a child?! 2. Nope, we’re done with 1.
So far we know that Kathleen Turner, Jennifer Lawrence, Rob Riggle, Laurie Holden, Rachel Melvin, Steve Tom and Lindsay Ayliffe are all on board, joining veteran Cam Neely. And if she’s not too busy helping defeat evil spirits in another Insidious, surely Lin Shaye has to stop by to cement the nostalgia?
The Farrellys are cranking the cameras now in Atlanta ready for a release next summer.
